PURPOSE: A system and a method for providing of traffic information between users are provided to collect traffic information and transmit it to an information terminal. CONSTITUTION: A traffic information service system(10) is connected to portable terminals(32,34,36) through networks(20,40). The traffic information collection unit collects traffic information. The traffic information collection unit processes the traffic information to a predetermined traffic information format. The traffic information comprises location information and a report time. The traffic information service system broadcasts the collected traffic information through a communications network.
