PURPOSE: An authentication method between electronic control units and an electronic control unit using the same are provided to prevent the abnormal purpose of slave ECU by determining the normal operation. CONSTITUTION: A master ECU transmits slave ID request command to the slave ECU before data communications between slave ECU and data communication(S31). The master ECU determines the coincidence of the stored slave ID and the received slave ID(S33). The master ECU transmits OK message to the slave ECU. The master ECU executes the slave ECU and the normal data communication(S35). The master ECU prohibits the normal operation of slave ECU by transmitting operating prohibiting message to the slave ECU(S37). |
