PURPOSE: An OS-CFAR detection method which stimulated computational complexity is provided to rapidly determine a target and a clutter by reducing calculation amount. CONSTITUTION: A received signal reflected from an object and is stored as distance data(S1). The distance data is arranged according to a power order in a descending order(S2). A sliding window is used to select a test cell for distance data saved in an aligned register(S3). A reference cell pointer is calculated by using the pointer of the test cell and the size of the window(S4). An ordered statistics is selected(S5). The k-th reference cell is selected by using the pointer of the order statistic and a threshold is calculated(S6). The threshold and the test cell are compared(S7). If the test cell is bigger than the threshold, 1 is saved and if not, 0 is saved(S8).
