PURPOSE: A welded structure and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent brittle cracks from spreading by forming a brittle crack spreading cutoff hole in a welded joint part. CONSTITUTION: A welded structure(1) comprises a brittle crack spreading cutoff hole(30), first and second plate members, and a middle plate member. The plate members are prepared through the butt welding of unit plate members. The middle plate member is welded between the first and second plate members. The brittle crack spreading cutoff hole is formed in the butt welded part(20) of the first and second plate members.
