<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal complex dye exhibiting a high molar absorption coefficient and having excellent light absorption ability in a long wavelength region; a photoelectric conversion element using semiconductor particles sensitized by the metal complex dye; and a photocell consisting of the photoelectric conversion element. <P>SOLUTION: The metal complex dye is represented by general formula: M (LL<SB POS="POST">1</SB>)<SB POS="POST">m1</SB>(LL<SB POS="POST">2</SB>)<SB POS="POST">m2</SB>(X)<SB POS="POST">m3</SB>CI. In the general formula: M is a metal atom; LL<SB POS="POST">1</SB>is a specific ligand of a nitrogen atom possible to be bidentate or tridentate coordinated to the metal atom; LL<SB POS="POST">2</SB>is another ligand of a nitrogen atom possible to be bidentate or tridentate coordinated; X is a monodentate or bidentate ligand coordinated with isothiocyanate groups or the like; m1 is an integer of 1 to 3; LL<SB POS="POST">1</SB>may be the same or different when m1 is 2 or more; m2 is an integer of 0 to 2; LL<SB POS="POST">2</SB>may be the same or different when m2 is 2; m3 is an integer of 0 to 2; X may be the same or different and can connect together when m3 is 2; and CI is a counter ion when the counter ion is required to neutralize charge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
