PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element that can form an anode having high transmissivity and conductivity without damaging an organic layer including an organic light-emitting layer when forming the anode, for a reversed lamination type organic electroluminescent element having an upper electrode as an anode.

SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescent element 10 includes: a cathode 2; a lamination substance 3 formed over the cathode 2 by laminating an organic layer including an organic light-emitting layer; and a transparent anode 5 including a metal oxide and a conductive polymer formed over the lamination substance 3.
