<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for a protective semiconductor device, when the connection between secondary batteries and a protective semiconductor device is disconnected, capable of detecting the disconnection even during the use of the secondary batteries. <P>SOLUTION: This protective semiconductor device includes: for every cell of a secondary battery, voltage-sense voltage dividing resistances (Rs11-Rs42) for dividing the voltage of the cell; reference voltages (Vr11-Vr41); and comparators 11, 12, 13, and 14 for comparing the voltages divided by the voltage-sense voltage dividing resistances (Rs11-Rs42) with the reference voltages; and a circuit sequentially and selectively parallel connecting internal resistances R11-R41, which have resistance values smaller than the voltage-sense voltage dividing resistances, to voltage-sense voltage dividing resistances corresponding to an identical cell of the secondary battery out of the voltage-sense voltage dividing resistances, at arbitrary time intervals. This protective semiconductor device detects the disconnection of the connection between the N number of secondary batteries and the protective semiconductor device based on the outputs of the first comparators 11, 12, 13, and 14 when the voltage-sense voltage dividing resistances and the internal resistances are connected in parallel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
