Provided is a glass substrate for a CIGS solar battery, wherein: the ratio of the average total content (atom%) of Ca, Sr and Ba in a section of 10-40 nm in depth from the surface of the glass substrate to the total content (atom%) of Ca, Sr and Ba in a section of 5000 nm in depth from the surface of the glass substrate is 0.17 or less; the ratio of the average Na amount (atom%) in the section of 10-40 nm in depth from the surface of the glass substrate before a heat treatment at 600oC for 1 hour under an N2 atmosphere to the same average Na amount after the heat treatment is 1.5 or more; the contents (mass%) of the following oxides in a section of 5000 nm or more in depth from the surface of the glass substrate are as follows, SiO2 53-72%, Al2O3 1-15%, MgO 0.5-9%, CaO 0.1-11%, SrO 0-11%, BaO 0-11%, Na2O 2-11%, K2O 4-21%, ZrO2 0.5-10.5%, MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO 4-25%, CaO+SrO+BaO 4-23%, Na2O+K2O 8-22% and Na2O/(CaO+SrO+BaO)=1.2; the glass transition temperature is 580oC or higher; and the average thermal expansion coefficient is 70×10-7 to 100×10-7oC inclusive. |
