PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alkali-free glass that has a high specific elasticity, a high Young's modulus, a high glass transition point, and a low coefficient of linear expansion and can be easily subjected to float molding.SOLUTION: The alkali-free glass has a Young's modulus of 87 GPa and comprises, in mass% on an oxide basis, SiO61-68.5, AlO17-23.5, MgO 6.5-15, and CaO 3-13 with 0.42<MgO/(MgO+CaO)≤0.68.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
