PURPOSE: An Input device and a control method thereof are provided to prevent malfunction by reducing the difference between an intended coordinate of a user and a touched coordinate of a finger. CONSTITUTION: A touch panel(120) includes a touch area on which a user touches and a recognition area on which an input touch is recognized corresponding to the touch area. A control unit(130) assigns a variable range of the recognition area corresponding to the touch area based on a fixed standard. The control unit divides the recognition area into cell areas. The control unit varies the range of the recognition area corresponding to the touch area by a cell coordinate system, a part of which has unevenly assigned cell areas.
