<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech retrieval interface device capable of efficiently narrowing a retrieval result, when an user retrieves specific information from a database by using speech recognition. <P>SOLUTION: Retrieval means 105 retrieves a word or a word string of a speech recognition result from a database for retrieval 104 and outputs the retrieval result and the number of retrieval candidates. When correction target word selection means 109 selects a correction target word, correction candidate generation means 111 matches the correction target word to a word of read and syllable storage means 110 for generating a correction candidate in a word unit and acquires the number of retrieval candidates to the correction candidate.
