摘要 <p>Provided is a light emitting device wherein power loss generated with a change of a drive voltage is suitably reduced. A light emitting device (15) of the present invention is provided with a plurality of light emitting element groups (Lch1-Lch4), a voltage detecting circuit (45), a voltage generating unit (50), and a drive control unit (40). The voltage detecting circuit (45) detects voltages (VP1-VP4) at contact points (P1-P4) of a light emitting element column (LA) and a drive switch (Q). The voltage generating unit (50) includes a plurality of smoothing capacitors (C1-C4) that correspond to the light emitting element groups, respectively, and generates using one of the smoothing capacitors a drive voltage (Vo) to be applied to the light emitting element groups. At the time of changing the drive voltage (Vo) with a change of lighting control, the drive control unit (40) selects a smoothing capacitor that corresponds to the light emitting element group having the lowest detection voltage (VP1-VP4), said light emitting element group being among at least one lighting-controlled light emitting element group, and the drive control unit makes the voltage generating unit (50) generate the drive voltage (Vo) using the selected smoothing capacitor.</p>
