PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the metabolism of a hydrogen bacterium.SOLUTION: While an electron is drawn via an electron medium substance 5 being able to keep either form of oxidant and reductant, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and a substance functioning as the terminal electron acceptor of a hydrogen bacterium are to be given to the hydrogen bacterium 2 in a culture medium 4 so as to conduct culture. This is a method for producing one or more kinds of useful substances selected from a group consisting of amino acids and fatty acids in which the hydrogen bacterium (Hydrogenobacter thermophilus) is used. |
