摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument for measuring a biogenic substance, using a confocal optical system simplifying the instrument and reducing measurement errors caused by the temperature difference due to the physical condition of a living body and seasonal temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The instrument for measuring a biogenic substance using the confocal optical system includes the confocal optical system and a body 40 enclosing the confocal optical system. The confocal optical system includes a laser light source LD; a lens system 23 collimating light from the light source; a half mirror 24 transmitting the light collimated by the lens system 23; a lens system 25 focusing the light transmitted through the half mirror toward the living body; a lens system 26 condensing the light reflected by the living body and transmitted through the lens system 25 and further reflected by the half mirror; a pinhole 27 allowing the light condensed by the lens system 26 to pass through; and a PD (photodetector) 28 receiving the light transmitted through the pinhole.
