AGENT FOR INCREASING SUGAR CONCENTRATION IN SUGARCANE, AND METHOD OF PROMOTING SUGARCANE RIPENING USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for increasing sugar concentration in sugarcane which effectively increases sugar concentration and is capable of sufficiently promoting ripening; also disclosed is a method of promoting sugarcane ripening using the same.

SOLUTION: The agent for increasing sugar concentration in sugarcane contains as active ingredients (A) at least one type of compound represented by the formula (I) (wherein A represents an oxygen atom or the like; Y represents a carboxyl group in free form or salt form; R represents a halogen atom or the like; and Y and R may bond to one another and form the -C(=O)-O-CH(CH3)-group), and (B) an herbicide.
