The assembly (100) has a rotary unit (114) mounted inside a casing that is formed by a volute part (102) and a flange (104). The rotary unit comprises a hub rotatably driven about a rotational axis (112) by a driving unit. Each of a set of mobile blades (110b) is mounted on the hub via a flexible joint e.g. hinge, rotating about a secondary axis that is parallel to the rotational axis of the hub. The flexible joint allows passage of the blade from a deployed position to a retracted position. A radial fixed blade prolongs the mobile blade when the mobile blade is in the deployed position. An independent claim is also included for a lawn mower comprising a storage box.
