<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle detector that detects light spots in an image and detecting other vehicles quickly and highly accurately based on the detected light spots. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle detector provided with an other-vehicle detection means 13 that detects light spots in an image in a vehicle and detects other vehicles based on the light spots, has an in-focus area setting means 11 which sets a predetermined area of an image as an in-focus area and other areas as out-of-focus areas. Light spots in the image are small in the in-focus area and large in the out-of-focus areas. The other vehicle detection means 13 detects the size of light spots detected by a light spot detection means 12, and detects light spots when the size is smaller than a reference value as other vehicles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
