<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for performing, over a long period of time, high-quality display of a liquid crystal display device having a plurality of backlights by reducing the deviation of deterioration of the backlights. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises: a liquid crystal panel 107; a white backlight 115 composed of white light-emitting diodes; an RGB backlight 114 composed of red, green, and blue light-emitting diodes; a storage section 110 recording the use frequency of each backlight; and a backlight switching determination section 117 which, when both backlights can be used for displaying an image, compares the use frequency of both backlights and turns on the backlight with lower use frequency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
