METHOD FOR REPLAYING DATA STREAM CONTAINING AUDIO, VIDEO AND/OR OTHER DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve synchronization between data streams recorded in multiplex on a storage medium and other data streams located outside the data stream multiplex.

SOLUTION: Some data streams contain video data and/or audio and/or other data. Some of the data streams are pre-recorded in multiplex on a storage medium while other data streams are located outside the data stream multiplex on the storage medium. The data streams are synchronized using a navigation file (List_of_PlayItems) which comprises descriptors (PlayItems, SubPlayItems) pointing to respective parts of the data streams, with the descriptors defining temporal arrangements for the data streams by using data sub-stream paths.
