METHOD AND MEANS FOR CURING OSTEOARTHRITIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for identifying a compound for guiding an assimilation stimulant action of chondrocytic cells.

SOLUTION: The method includes steps of: bringing the compound into contact with polypeptide containing an amino acid sequence to be selected from a group consisting of sequence numbers 58 and 59; and measuring characteristics of compound-polypeptide relevant to the assimilation stimulant action of the chondrocytic cells. In the method, the characteristics include coupling affinities of the compound to the polypeptide, and activation of a biological path for producing a biochemical marker to be an index of the assimilation stimulant action of the chondrocytic cells.
