The embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and an apparatus for transmitting services through pseudo wires, wherein the method includes the following steps: when a pseudo wire is requested to be established, a routing table is inquired according to the address information of the opposite end apparatus; a first pseudo wire is established when it is learned that the three-layer route between the local end apparatus and the opposite end apparatus is one-hop through inquiring the routing table; the services between the local end apparatus and the opposite end apparatus are transmitted through the first pseudo wire. Without increasing the apparatus investment and changing the network topology, the embodiments of the present invention can reduce the load of the apparatus on the base station controller side by not requesting for establishing the outer-layer tunnel in the condition of one-hop route.
