A protection circuit for an outlet includes: a switch control circuit (101), the input terminal of which is connected with a direct current power supply or an alternate current power supply; an automatic load detection circuit (102) for detecting whether the output terminal of the outlet is connected with a load and feeding a load signal (3) back to the switch control circuit (101), the input terminal of which is connected with the switch control circuit (101) and the output terminal of which is connected with the output terminal of the outlet; and a start button (103) connected with the switch control circuit (101). Whether the output of the switch control circuit (101) is a high alternate current voltage with high power is controlled by the load signal (3) and the start button (103) together. With the combination application of the automatic load detection circuit (102) and the start button (103), the safety of the outlet is guaranteed when a child touches the outlet.
