SYSTEM AND METHOD OF ACTUATING MEMS DISPLAY ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device including a controller configured so as to control a driving circuit which actuates MEMS display elements with potential differences of a first polarity during a first portion of a display writing process.

SOLUTION: A method of writing display data to MEMS display elements is configured to minimize charge buildup and differential aging. The method may include writing data with opposite polarities, and periodically releasing and/or actuating MEMS elements during a display updating process. Actuating MEMS elements with potential differences higher than those used during normal display data writing may also be utilized.
