<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite fiber which is useful for safety protective products such as safety protective cloth, protective clothing, protective aprons and protective gloves for protecting workers in the meat-packing industry or the like where sharp cutters are used, in particular which is used to form cut-resistant gloves excellent in moisture-absorption characteristics, wear comfort, use feeling and workability when worn. <P>SOLUTION: The composite fiber includes a core material and a covering layer formed of a covering fiber wound around the core material.
