PURPOSE: A display device and a control method thereof are provided to accurately recognize a switch click, prevent a wrong switch click by a user mistake, and easily input letters with a touch pad. CONSTITUTION: A user input unit(100) comprises a touch sense pad(10) and a switch(20) for a click of the touch sense pad. When the difference between a first location information of switch press and a second location information of switch release lies within a fixed range, a control unit(240) determines a switch click. If the switch click is not determined, the control unit determines touch moving from the first to the second location.
