METHOD FOR ESTIMATING DEGREE OF DETERIORATION OF CELLULOSE FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating the degree of deterioration of cellulose fiber using a refractive index data of the cellulose fiber with high accuracy and with good efficiency.

SOLUTION: A method for estimating the degree of deterioration of cellulose fiber comprises the steps of: determining a refractive index data of cellulose fiber by using a dispersion dyeing method; and estimating the degree of deterioration of cellulose fiber based on the refractive index data. Using the relation between the degree of deterioration and the Mahalanobis distance of the refractive index data of the deteriorated cellulose fiber which has been prepared by using a Mahalanobis-Taguchi system, the Mahalanobis distance is set to be used as an index showing the degree of deterioration.
