<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical face motion tracking method with which the orientation of a face or the movement of a mouth of an operator can be easily detected by using one camera. <P>SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided an image processing part 4 having a plurality of optical markers Ai, Bj on a front portion of a face attachment type display device attached to an operator 3, one camera 2 with respect to a plurality of optical markers Ck for a under lip portion, and a face angle calculating part 6 constructed by a computer 5, and a mouth opening angle calculating part 7. At least three optical markers Ai of the fron portion are provided such that they bend in the horizontal direction, while at least one optical markers Bj in the vertical direction is provided and at least one upper lip optical markers Ck is provided. The image is taken by the camera 2 and the positions of the optical markers Ai, Bj and Ck are detected.
