摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TCV control device capable of preventing occurrence of "a failure" by generating "a target tumble ratio" suited to an engine running state in a cylinder. <P>SOLUTION: During engine running, "an estimated tumble ratio" is always calculated by using a relationship (drift degree) between an intake flow rate (an entire intake rate) of air passing through an intake path 2, measured by a first AFM 7, and the intake flow rate of a part narrowed by a TCV3, measured by a second AFM 8. The opening of the TCV 3 is feedback-controlled via an electric actuator so that "the estimated tumble ratio" follows "the target tumble ratio". Thus, "a real tumble ratio" estimated by "the estimated tumble ratio" is controlled to "the target tumble ratio", the combustion state of an engine 1 is optimally maintained, and the occurrence of "the failure" such as misfire and knocking is prevented.
