PURPOSE: A light emitting diode package using a quantum dot, a backlight unit using the quantum dot, and manufacturing methods thereof are provided to implement high brightness and color reproduction by applying the quantum dot to the light emitting diode package and the backlight unit. CONSTITUTION: A quantum dot sheet emits light of a second wavelength and a third wavelength by absorbing light of a first wavelength. A pair of light transmitting layers(120,122) are formed on both sides of the quantum sheet. A sealing unit is formed along the sides of the one pair of light transmitting layers and seals the quantum sheet from the outside. A resin layer(140) is adhered to one of the light transmitting layers. A light emitting device(150) emits the light at the first wavelength to the quantum dot sheet. A package body is concave and mounts the resin layer and the light emitting device in the concave part.
