<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy treatment and to easily collect a biogas while reducing a facility cost. <P>SOLUTION: A biomass treatment apparatus includes: a mixing tank 2 for mixing biomass 31 and the fermentation residue 32 of the biomass; a treatment tank 3 to which a mixture 33 composed of the biomass 31 and the residue 32 of the biomass is supplied for carrying out dry methane fermentation of the mixture 33; a heater device 4 for heating inside the treatment tank 3; a biogas collecting unit 5 for collecting a biogas 35 generated from the mixture 33 by dry methane fermentation from the treatment tank 3; a composting unit 6 for composting the fermentation residue 34 of the mixture 33 by aerating the treatment tank 3; and a discharger 7 for discharging the composted fermentation residue 34 of the mixture 33 from the treatment tank 3.
