<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact device capable of generating a greater contact pressure while suppressing an increase in size. <P>SOLUTION: A contact device comprises: a case 31; fixed terminals 33 having fixed contacts 32 housed in the case 31; a movable contactor 35 having movable contacts 34 which approach/move away from the fixed contacts 32; a movable shaft 5 consisting of a yoke contact portion 52 arranged between a top face of the movable contactor 35 and an inner face of the case 31 to restrict the movement of the movable contactor 35 toward the fixed contacts 32, and a shaft part 51 connected to the yoke contact portion 52; a yoke plate 6 which abuts on a lower face of the movable contactor 35 and faces the yoke contact portion 52 across the movable contactor 35; a pressing spring 36 which biases the movable contactor 35 toward the fixed contacts 32; and an electromagnet block 2 which drives the movable shaft 5 in such a manner that the movable contacts 34 approach/move away from the fixed contacts 32.
