<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weld width measurement method with which the size of a molten portion can be calculated in a non-contact manner and the inspection result can be stably calculated without any expertise. <P>SOLUTION: According to the present invention, an oscillating Q switch pulse laser device 20 and a surface displacement measurement device 30 are arranged to be opposed to each other, holding therebetween an object to be inspected which is obtained by bonding a pair of sheet metals by welding. The surface displacement measurement device 30 is fixed at the nearest position off a welding portion. The oscillating Q switch pulse laser device 20 is displaced at a certain interval over the welding portion of the object to be inspected while irradiating the object to be inspected with pulse laser light and generating impulse wave. The position of the oscillating Q switch pulse laser device 20 at the time when the impulse wave passing through the welding portion of the object to be inspected by the surface displacement measurement device 30 is calculated by a calculator 40, thereby measuring the welding width of the molten portion formed on the object to be inspected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
