<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for immobilizing carbon dioxide, which can readily immobilize carbon dioxide in the form of an organic acid or a carbohydrate under ordinary environments. <P>SOLUTION: In the device for immobilizing carbon dioxide, an anode 1 and a cathode 2 on which an oxidoreductase is present on the surfaces thereof are so arranged as to face each other through a proton conductor 3. Electric power is input from the outside, so that water is decomposed in the anode 1 to generate a proton and an organic acid or a carbohydrate is generated from the proton generated in the anode 1 and carbon dioxide in the cathode 2. In the generation of the organic acid or the carbohydrate, a high concentration of carbon dioxide is supplied from a carbon dioxide supply unit 5 to the cathode 2, and oxygen generated in the anode 1 and the organic acid or the carbohydrate generated in the cathode 2 are removed from the reaction system respectively through an oxygen removal unit 4 and a product collection unit 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
