The present invention provides: a silver ink composition characterized by comprising at least one silver ß-keto- carboxylate selected from the group consisting of silver isobutyrylacetate, silver benzoylacetate, silver propionyl- acetate, silver acetoacetate, silver a-methylacetoacetate and silver a-ethylacetoacetate, and an aliphatic primary or secondary amine having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and a base material provided with a metallic silver layer on the surface, wherein the metallic silver layer is a layer formed by heating the silver ink composition. According to the present invention, a silver ink composition suitable for forming a metallic silver layer which has excellent gloss and specularity, and a base material wherein a metallic silver layer formed using the silver ink composition is present on the surface can be obtained. |
