The webbing (1) has a belt inner space whose portion (A) is filled with fluid. A set of adjacent breaking seams (R1-R3) e.g. absorber seams, is introduced in a region of a webbing edge (K), where the breaking seams break successively such that a shock pulse is absorbed during filling the belt inner space with the fluid. The breaking seams extend parallel to each other and to the webbing edge. Fabric layers are connected with an extending tear strip in a warp direction (R). A seam and fabric are protected by the breaking seams. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a webbing for a safety belt of a vehicle.
