<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low pressure EGR system control device and a method, controlling such that condensed water is not generated from the low pressure EGR system. <P>SOLUTION: The low pressure EGR system control device has an outer air temperature-detecting section for detecting an outer air temperature in the traveling area of the car, an air conditioner switch for outputting information on whether or not a wiper is operated, a wiper switch for outputting information on whether or not a wiper is operated, and a control section for controlling such that the condensed water is not generated by regulating the operation of the low pressure EGR system when calculating a relative humidity by analyzing the outer air temperature and determining the high humidity condition in which the relative humidity is higher than the setting value. Further, in the control section, information relating to monthly average minimum air temperatures, monthly average relative humidities and monthly average total amount of rainfall in specific areas is mapped and set in advance and the control section regulates the operation of the low pressure EGR system when the relative humidity and the total amount of the rainfall is not less than the set values set in advance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
