<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a control system using a programmable logic controller at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A control system 200 using a PLC 71 includes: a remote I/O unit 37, a flat cable 80, a second input output substrate 39b, and a third input output substrate 39c. The remote I/O unit 37 is connected to the PLC 71 and includes a remote I/O 41 having an input output terminal 45. The flat cable 80 can be connected to the input output terminal 45. The second input output substrate 39b and the third input output substrate 39c are provided in chain conveyors 10b and 10c respectively, both of which are different from a chain conveyor 10a provided with the remote I/O unit 37.
