<p>Diketopyracene is synthesized in high yield without using carbon disulfide as a solvent. A special solvent is used. In particular, a solvent having a benzene ring that has two or more chlorine atoms is used. The two chlorine atoms are not in meta positions but in ortho positions of the benzene ring.</p>
