Vehicle Collision Alarm System and Method

PURPOSE: A vehicle collision alarm system is provided to accurately and quickly detect a front vehicle by using a photograph image for alarming the danger of a vehicle collision. CONSTITUTION: The alarming method of a vehicle collision comprises: step(S310) of pre-treating the image of the front of a vehicle which is obtained from a camera module, by an integral image; a step of detecting the nominee area of a front vehicle by applying adaboost algorithm to the integral image; a step of confirming whether the detected nominee area of a front vehicle is valid; a step of selecting an area of a front vehicle by clustering the valid nominee area of a front vehicle; a step(S370) of calculating the distance from the front vehicle to the vehicle one's own by using the confirmed area of a front vehicle; and a step(S380) of deciding the vehicle collision alarm condition in case the distance is unsatisfied a standard condition; and a step(S390) of vehicle collision alarming in case of satisfying the vehicle collision alarm condition.
