<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve coding efficiency in coding of a multi-viewpoint image. <P>SOLUTION: A feature amount generation unit 41 generates a feature amount indicating correlation between images whose viewpoints are different each other. A reference index allocation unit 45 allocates, on the basis of the feature amount, reference indexes to a reference picture of parallax prediction using correlation between the images whose viewpoints are different each other and to a reference picture of time prediction using correlation between the images in a time direction. When it is discriminated for example that the correlation is lower than a preset threshold on the basis of the feature amount, the allocation of the reference indexes is changed and the reference index to be allocated to the reference picture of the parallax prediction is reallocated to the reference picture of time prediction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
