The appliance has a turbidity sensor (23) provided in a hydraulic system, where rinsing liquid is circulated in the hydraulic system. The turbidity sensor detects turbidity of the rinsing liquid and comprises an UV radiation element for sterilization of the rinsing liquid circulated in the hydraulic system through UV radiation. The radiation element is liquid-tightly separated from the rinsing liquid by a UV radiation transmissive housing section of the sensor. The housing section of the sensor forms a common sensor housing part that is made of a UV radiation transmissive material.
