PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display apparatus is provided to prevent the light leakage of a damage area by additionally forming a light blocking layer. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal layer is formed between a first substrate(100) and a second substrate. Column spacers(310, 320) are formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The column spacer is formed within a light blocking area which is located on the first substrate or the second substrate. The light blocking area including the column spacer is bigger than the light blocking area where does not include the column spacer.
