<p>PURPOSE: A broadband balun is provided to improve the validity of a signal conversion process by reducing manufacturing costs of the broadband balun. CONSTITUTION: A balun(100) comprises an unbalanced line(110), a dual Y transition slot line(120), and a balanced line(130). The unbalanced line comprises a central conductor(112) and two equal potential coplanar conductors(114,116). The dual Y transition slot line comprises two conductors(122,124). The balanced line comprises center conductors(131,132) and coplanar conductors(133,134,135,136). The conductor of the dual Y transition slot line couples the signal potential of the conductor which is electromagnetically coupled to the two coplanar conductors of the unbalanced line to the central conductor and the coplanar conductor of the balanced line. The balanced line additionally includes two connection lines(142,144).</p> |
