The invention relates to monitoring method of coupling in a rotating system of an internal combustion engine, wherein angular speeds on each side of the coupling are measured (110, 130). The method comprising exciting dynamic property of the coupling by changing cylinder-wise fuel-injection of the internal combustion engine, identifying cylinder-wise effects from angular velocity/speed measurements and, estimating the dynamic properties of said coupling by analyzing said identified effects in combination with predetermined engine and transmission system parameters. The invention also relates to control unit and monitoring system. |
