Producing a fiber-based material composition for compression or production of its precursor body, comprises (a) providing at least one fibrous material with fibers or sections of fibers, at least one binder material and/or preferably at least one additional material, (b) mixing the fibrous materials, binder materials and preferably the additional material with each other and obtaining a moist mixture containing moisture content, and (c) partially or completely dehumidifying the moist mixture and obtaining a partially or completely dehumidified or dried mixture. Producing a fiber-based material composition for compression or production of its precursor body, comprises (a) providing at least one fibrous material with fibers or sections of fibers, at least one binder material and/or preferably at least one additional material, where at least one binder material and/or the additional material exhibit a moisture content in the form of a liquid, pasty and/or gel-like component, (b) mixing the fibrous materials, binder materials and preferably the additional material with each other and obtaining a one moist mixture containing moisture content, and (c) partially or completely dehumidifying the moist mixture and obtaining a partially or completely dehumidified or dried mixture as the material composition. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the fiber-based material composition or the precursor body produced from it obtained by the above mentioned method; and (2) a workpiece, a tool or its precursor body, where the tool or its precursor body is based on the fiber-based material composition or the precursor body produced from it, and the workpiece, the tool or its precursor body is designed as a brake disk for a vehicle or a machine with at least one part rotatable around an axis.
