Yarns, treating with liquids.-In a process for the wet treatment of yarns or threads, particularly artificial silk threads, the threads are disposed at an angle, obtuse or acute, to the direction of flow of the treatment fluid instead of being perpendicular or parallel to it. The threads may be supported on an inclined carrier which may be perforated or provided with drainage grooves or formed as a grating. As applied to centrifuges, the sides of the centrifuge may be inclined as in Fig. 7 or the yarn may be disposed vertically but obliquely to the axis as shown in plan view in Fig. 8.
