PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove water in a fuel cell within a short time when the operaton of the fuel cell is stopped. SOLUTION: The operation stopping method of the fuel cell having a water permeating humidifier 30, making reaction gas to be supplied to a fuel cell 1 flow into the primary side flow path of a water permeating humidifier 30, and collecting the moisture in the exhausted reaction gas by making the reaction gas, which is exhausted from the fuel cell, flow into the secondary side flow path of the water permeating humidifier 30 when operating, has a step of removing the moisture in the fuel cell 1 when stopping the operation of the fuel cell 1 by exhausting the reaction gas exhausted from the fuel cell 1 by bypassing through the secondary side flow path, and making the supplied reaction gas pass through the primary side flow path, and making a part of the supplied reaction gas, passed through the primary side flow path, pass through the secondary side flow path, and a step of stopping the supply of the reaction gas to be supplied to the fuel cell after removing the water in the fuel cell. |
