Propellers, screw. -The flow from the propellers is improved by sheathing the stern-post with plates 1, 2 the pair of plates above the propeller axis 5 being shaped so that the starboard plate bends over the port plate to which it is riveted at the edge 6 which throughout its length is in close proximity to the rear of the propeller blades 8. Below the propelller axis the sheathing is oppositely disposed. The plates are also carried backwards to the rudder between bearings 13 of the rudder pintles.
