PURPOSE: A method for saving the power consumption of a mobile terminal is provided to vary a DRX cycle based on the analysis result of a incoming call signal analysis pattern result. CONSTITUTION: A terminal determines the variable of a DRX cycle based on the receiving signal pattern analysis result(210). If a predetermined threshold value or a receiving signal generation probability is lower than a predetermined threshold value, the terminal determines the operation method which extends the DRX cycle on the corresponding time zone. If not the terminal determines the operation method which restores the DRX cycle on the corresponding time zone(220).
