PURPOSE: An overcharge prevention valve for a high pressure gas vessel is provided to secure an accurate overcharge preventing function regardless of relation between the pressure of a charging station and the pressure of a high pressure gas vessel. CONSTITUTION: An overcharge prevention valve for a high pressure gas vessel comprises a valve body(3), a piston(5), a float(7), and a link unit. The valve body comprises a charging passage(1) of fluid charged into a high pressure gas vessel. The piston is installed in the valve body and linearly slides to open and close the charging passage. The float is installed to float on the surface of fluid in the high pressure gas vessel by the buoyancy thereof. The link unit induces a displacement between the states where the piston closes and opens the charging passage according to the rising of the float.
